Changing a career is equally scary as it is exciting. As a career development professional with 10 years of experience who recently transitioned from a full-time, traditional role in higher education to an entrepreneurial adventure, I understand how and strive to help mid-career professionals, like you, get unstuck and empowered to explore what is possible!
My advice has appeared in the Huffington Post College blog, Higher Ed Beyond the University, the NASPA Women in Student Affairs Blog, NerdScholar and Good.co. I speak regionally, nationally and internationally at professional association conferences, for non-profit professionals and community organizations.
I am a certified resume writer (2016) and an AAUW Start Smart/Work Smart Salary Negotiation expert.
Lastly, I consult with Spelman and Johnson, a higher education executive search firm, supporting candidates and the company’s search processes and contributing pieces to their blog and other marketing efforts.
My community engagement and enrichment efforts include serving as co-chair of the regional chapters committee for Franklin and Marshall College’s alumni board, launching an alumni engagement initiative called the True Blue Corps for the same organization, co-leading the Chapters Committee (2015-2016), and co-leading the new Alumni Communities Committee (2015-2016). Prior to this work, I served as Executive Co-Chair for the Northampton Area Young Professionals group, supervising a team of 6 volunteer leaders to grow this non-profit organization in collaboration with the local chamber of commerce. I am a graduate of Leadership Pioneer Valley (2014) and recently served as a team coach for 6 of the 35-member class who graduated from the program in 2016. Finally, I previously served as a member of a 4-person team driving an online community and school for entrepreneurs called the Do + Make Business District. These efforts in higher education, entrepreneurship and the local community support my goals to engage individuals in leadership, professional and personal growth opportunities.
